We have a very close relationship with Slough Borough Council. Ruth Bagley, the chief executive visited us just 20 days after we moved in. And on 27th March, when our new office was officially opened by the Duke of York, we were supported by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Ruth Bagley and Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough.
Choosing our office space was easy. We contacted BCC LinkToChina, a UK-China business service, and they introduced us to SEGRO, who showed us a brand new empty building and adapted it to our needs. The result is a bespoke design, which perfectly matches our requirements.
Our UK business tripled last year and we are expecting 100% growth this year. So, as one of the industry’s major suppliers, we’re confident that our future here looks very promising.
Slough has a very multinational community and we enjoy life here. There’s a lot to do nearby. We like walking to Windsor, only an hour away, when the weather’s good. - And London provides endless possibilities… brunch in China Town, movies in Leicester Square, walks by the Thames at Westminster, or trips to museums, art galleries and West End theatres are just some of the things we appreciate.Andrew Yuan - Managing Director of Hytera Communications (UK) Co., Ltd
Position. Being near Heathrow, London and the main motorways is a major draw.
Our senior executives have a 13 hour flight when they visit from Hong Kong. Our old office was a further two hour drive on top of that, which made for a difficult journey. Now it takes them just 20 minutes to get here from Heathrow, leaving them with more time and energy.
London is only around 20 minutes away by train, which is very convenient for when we need to do business there.
People. It’s very easy to find talented people in this area. In the last five months we have employed three people from London and are currently looking for skilled technical and sales staff. We’ve a preference for people with professional wireless telecom backgrounds, as they’ve got knowledge of system integration, terminals and applications – and so far we’ve been delighted with the team we are building.
Potential. Some of our biggest potential customers are located here in Thames Valley Berkshire – Europe’s equivalent to Silicon Valley – which is thriving with opportunities to meet with and work alongside new clients.
