UK gets £9.9bn Olympic boost
Thanks to the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games, Britain saw a £9.9 billion investment and trade boost. A report has said that from hosting London 2012 games, the total benefit to Business in the United Kingdom could reach up to £41 billion by 2020.
Prime Minister David Cameron said: “This £9.9 billion boost to the UK economy is a reminder to the world that, if you want the best, if you want professionalism, if you want jobs done on time and on budget then you should think British.”
The games have also inspired thousands of people to volunteer to their local sports clubs, with 1.4 million more playing sports a week since 2005. Since last summer the games have also brought thousands of jobs, not only in London but across the Uk increasing growth, as well as seeing an extraordinary transformation to East London.
