Funding boost for SWIPE history project

The project know as ‘Remember the times’ run by Slough West Indian Peoples Enterprise (SWIPE) has made a big impact this week in collecting early history and memories of migrants from the Caribbean by receiving a grant of £53,600 from the Heritage lottery fund.

Slough will be holding interviews with those who immigrated from the Caribbean to slough, hoping to document history all the way back from the 1950′s and 60′s. With the help from the younger generation, Slough museum had agreed to train volunteers and young people to help with their findings for the future generation to come.
