Building work begins to provide office space in 'the heart of Slough'
Work has begun to build 115,000 square feet of new office space in a 'prime location' close to Slough railway station.
The Leader of Slough Borough Council (SBC), Cllr Robert Anderson, was joined by SBC chief executive Ruth Bagley yesterday (Wednesday) at The Porter Building in Brunel Way to celebrate the start of construction.
Cllr Anderson said: “We’re delighted to see work underway on The Porter Building.
“It will provide high-quality offices in a prime location.
“Not only is Slough one of the most connected places in the UK, but the building itself will be located in the heart of town, right outside the main railway and Crossrail station.”
The site will feature a roof terrace to encourage ‘wellness’ in the workplace.
The joint venture between Landid and Brockton Capital is expected to be completed in August 2017, in time for the arrival of Crossrail in 2019.
The project will create between 200 and 250 jobs.
